The Sit Upon

Last Updated January 01, 2018

Sitting for long periods of time can cause all kinds of physical problems. In my article Piecing All Day Was Bad on My Back, I talked about the Pomodoro Method of taking short breaks to be more productive. Even if you’re taking multiple short breaks, it’s still good to have a comfortable place to sit. I often use the Sit Upon by the Gypsy Quilter to make my chair more comfortable. This chair pad is soft and adds a few inches of height as you sit. This is especially useful when going to classes where the only chairs are of the metal, folding variety. There is no need for me to drag my sewing chair to retreats and classes if I bring the Sit Upon.

Other Comfort Suggestions

Another product I have seen others use is The Body Rite Posture Pleasure by Mag Eyes. This is a set of weights attached to what looks like suspenders. The straps adjust to your size and height. The weights can be either 2 or 3 pounds.

Full disclosure – I have never used the Body Rite Posture Pleaser, therefore I cannot review it or comment on it. I have seen quilters use this at retreats and classes. Those that I have seen use it, really love it. For more information on this product, please visit Mag Eyes, Inc. In addition to the Body Rite, you will see the Mag Eyes Vision Magnification on the Mag Eyes website . All of their products are made and assembled in the United States.

What do you think? If you have used the Pomodoro Technique, the Sit Upon Chair Pad or the Body Rite Posture Pleaser, tell us what you think about them.
