Fat quarters are like candy to most quilters. We love to acquire them, save them and sometimes to use them. I like to fold fat quarters so they are easy to store in drawers. The method I use to fold fat quarters I learned from a friend who worked at a quilt shop. Th In under 60 seconds you can fold a fat quarter that won’t unfold until you want it to.
Why Fold Fat Quarters?
Folding fat quarters makes them easy to store. It also keeps the edges from fraying. Here are some fat quarters filed away in a drawer.
My all time favorite fun and easy fat quarter quilts, Yellow Brick Road Pattern and Turning Twenty Books, by Atkinson designs. I have made at lest 6 quilts from this pattern and book. Great for beginners and for using fat quarters.
